Kids Hope Mentoring

Volunteers are needed to mentor first grade students at Mill Creek Elementary. It is a commitment of one hour a week during the school day to help a student.

Requirements: Training and a background check from the Fayette County Public School system.

Other Opportunities: Donations of school supplies for the first grade classes are needed.

Haiti

Calvary has made a commitment to share God’s Hope to the people of Grand Goave, Haiti. Calvary has partnered with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Conscience International in serving the Haitian people. Opportunities to Serve: Physical labor, simple construction, medical teams, dental teams, providing lots of love to children. Chrysalis House: Chrysalis Clothing Closet

The Chrysalis House is a home for women recovering from Drug and Alcohol abuse. Their house is located adjacent to our back parking lot. Calvary supplies and operates a clothing closet for the women and children of the Chrysalis House.

Opportunities to Serve: Donate clothing for women and children (Donation Station located in Calvary’s Education Building 2), help organize clothing.

KBF Extreme Build

Each year the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship builds a house in McCreary County, KY. This year's build will be June 9-15, 2013. Cost per person is $100.

Opportunities to Serve: Construction, painting, landscaping, cooking for the volunteers.

God’s Pantry

Calvary volunteers work God’s Pantry at the Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church location every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.

Responsibilities: Help individuals shop for their groceries and stock the pantry shelves when needed.

Meals on Wheels

Calvary members work with other volunteers to deliver meals to the elderly. The commitment for this ministry is one day a month.  Example: Deliver food the first Friday of each month.

Responsibilities: Pick up the food at Trinity Baptist Church, deliver the meals to the elderly, return coolers to Trinity.

Mission Blitz Day

This is a day when the Calvary family comes together to do missions projects throughout our city.  A wide variety of mission opportunities are provided. There is something for every age group and skill level. It is a wonderful day filled with fellowship, worship and serving the city of Lexington. Mission Blitz Day is October 19, 2013.

Possible Projects: Construction work, serving the homeless, helping the elderly, helping with the community gardens, general cleaning, yard work.

Missions in Nada, Kentucky 

Calvary has been working to provide assistance to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Mission in Nada, KY.

Opportunities to Serve: Construction projects, collect donations and organize yard sale to raise funds, lead Bible studies, work with the Women’s Ministry.
