All Sports Camp
Kindergarten through 5th grade
Cost:  $25 per child
July 20-23
Deadline to sign up:  July 15
Each day will feature a focus on one sport with 
instruction, skill development and playing time 
in the following sports: basketball, soccer, flag football, and volleyball.  Thursday is Game Day where girls and boys will play a full game of each sport!

Vacation Bible School 2015 - Journey off the Map

It is hard to believe but VBS is about six weeks away.  We will Journey Off the Map with our preschoolers and children and you don’t want to miss it!  Leaders, teachers, recreation, crafts and snack volunteers are being recruited now for this wonderful, intergenerational, faith forming event.  Please contact Carrie Beth to find out more about volunteer spots or to sign-up.

Yard Work Help Needed

We need your help!
 We have a mulched area under one of our climbing units in one of our playgrounds that is overgrown with grass.  We need to kill the grass and remove it before our partners from First United Methodist come on May 16 to put new mulch out.  Please contact Carrie Beth if you would be interested in helping with this project.

Homebound Visitors Meeting

 All current homebound visitors, past visitors and anyone interested in being a visitor to our homebound members are invited to attend this meeting to help get this program up and running again. We have so many members who are in need of a someone to visit with them at least once a month.  If you have a kind word and a warm smile to share, come join us.

Donations for the Haiti Mission Trip

In July 2015, Calvary has a team of school teachers who will being traveling to Haiti to do teacher training. Donations are needed for the school in Grand Goave.  If you can help with any of the supplies listed below, please drop them off in the Donation Station located in Education Building 2.

Join us on Sunday, April 26 as Steven Porter, the Global Mission Coordinator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship will bring our message at both the 8:3 and 11:00 Worship Services.
Steven Porter is a strategic and innovative former CBF field personnel and former director of Touching Miami with Love.  He earned a M. Div. at the Candler School of Theology and is pursuing a Th.D. from Duke University Divinity School.  He has taught courses in evangelism at the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor and at William Jewel College in Liberty, MO.  He has served as a chaplain in a Miami federal prison and as a street pastor for a homeless congregation. 
Internationally, Porter has served three stints as an international student participating in the work of the Baptist World Alliance and the International Association of Mission Studies.

We will be joining Conscience International in March 2016 with their work in San Pedro.  We will have opportunities for carpentry teams, agriculture projects and small business training.  There will be room for 12 people on this trip.  Come and learn about how you can be a part of this.

College "Away Student" Care Packages

Spring is officially here!  That means the College Ministry is getting ready to send out finals care packages to all of our Calvary students who are away at college.  If you have a college student away, please email your student’s address and date of finals to Lisa by April 16th.  We will be sending out the packages by the 23rd. Please send the address information to
by Thursday, April 16th   

Weekend Missions Opportunities

We will take two different mission teams to the Galilean Home in Casey County, KY.  The Galilean Home takes care of the children of incarcerated women until they are released from prison.  The home takes the children to the prison to visit their mothers once a week.  The Galilean Home also houses severely handicapped adults in another home on the campus.  This is an exciting new ministry partnership for Calvary to be involved in.

These are the goals of Calvary’s Fresh Stop Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).  In our fourth year of the program which will begin on June 6th, we are offering half-season shares (1st or 2nd half) or full season shares, mini shares or full shares.  Contact Donna Chaffin ( or Doris Settles ( for more information.

Help Calvary College Ministry Raise Money

 We have a great opportunity to raise several thousand dollars for the Calvary College Ministry by volunteering at the Rolex 3 Day Event for 3-4 hour shifts. Students or adults are needed on April 18 from 9am-4pm, April 21 from 9am-6pm and on April 26 from 4-11pm. Email for more information or to sign up for a shift. Each volunteer will receive an event ticket.

Caring For Our Local College Students

The College Ministry will be distributing 80+ care packages to our local college students on Sunday, May 4th at their Prayer & Pancake event.  Needed items include individually packaged snack items such as granola bars, chips, cookies, snack crackers, and microwave popcorn.  Care Package donations can be dropped off at the church office by Wednesday, April 22nd.
Homemade cookies packaged in snap & seal sandwich bags are also needed but should not be dropped off until May 3rd in the church office. Thank you for sharing God’s love with our students.

College Graduates and Summer Missionaries

 Is your son or daughter graduating from college this year or going on a mission trip this summer?  On Sunday, May 3rd, we will be recognizing our college graduates and summer missionaries during the 11:00 worship service. Please forward the information listed below along with their picture to The deadline to get us the information is April 17th.

Graduate Information Needed:
1.    Name of the degree
2.    Plans after graduation
3.    A picture of the graduate (The
       picture will be in the church bulletin
       and  will also be in a power point
       presentation during Early Worship.)

 Mission Information Needed:
1.    The place where the student will be 
        serving or the name of the camp
        where he or she will be working 
2.     Summer mailing address so we will
        be able to send something during
        the summer.

Church Nominating Committee Meeting, March 15

The Church Nominating Committee will begin meeting on March 15.  The members of the Nominating Committee are Jimmy Adams, Debra Buzo, Mary Ann Garback, Aaron Foscardo, Karen Henderson, Casey Hutchens, Nick Keitz, Carson Kerr, and Richard Myers.   This committee will bring  a recommendation of nominees for elected church leadership positions to the church business meeting in May.  These positions include: Deacon, Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, Trustee, By-Laws Committee, Treasurer, Church Clerk and Asst.
