YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN the Sanctuary Choir for a day in July and they are rearranging their rehearsal schedule to fit you in! Sing one Sunday, or all four!
Instead of Wednesday evening rehearsals in July, we will gather Sundays at 8:45am for a 45-minute rehearsal of the music for that day only. Breakfast foods will follow. After Sunday School, the choir will reconvene to warm up and put the finishing touches in time for worship.
No audition necessary.
Simply bring yourself and your joyful noise to the choir room any Sunday in July at 8:45 for music and fun! See you there? Hope so!
Grilling on the Green
July 22 and 29
Grilling on the Green (grilling hamburgers and hotdogs for the homeless) is back this Summer. It is a wonderful opportunity for Calvary to meet a need with the downtown community and to engage and share the love of Christ with individuals. We do need YOU to participate. We will have signup on June 14 and 21. We need 50 people to make this a great event. Stop by the table and join the team.
Family Mission Trip
July 24-25, 2015
To Galilean Home
in Casey County, KY
Cost: $100 per family
Lodging at The Bedford Inn
There will be several child-friendly sites. It will be a great weekend for our families to come together and partner with a great organization.
We will take two different mission teams to the Galilean Home in Casey County, KY. The Galilean Home takes care of the children of incarcerated women until they are released from prison. The home takes the children to the prison to visit their mothers once a week. The Galilean Home also houses severely handicapped adults in another home on the campus. This is an exciting new ministry partnership for Calvary to be involved in.
Men’s Carpentry Trip
Cost: $75 all inclusive
There will be several work projects to complete over a couple of days.
Cost: $100 per family
This will be a child friendly trip.
This is another great opportunity for families to develop a mission focus
with their children.

The College Ministry will be having a Coffee House for college students every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening from 7pm-Midnight at the College Ministry building at the corner of Maxwell and MLK Blvd.

The Chrysalis House is a nonprofit organization that helps women with substance abuse problems get back on their feet and they are right at Calvary's back door. Many of the women in the program come to the ROC for exercise and recreation, as well as volunteering at the ROC. Calvary has a small closet where we are able to provide clothing and miscellaneous items for these women and their children. The new or gently used items needed are listed below:
Women's fall/winter clothing
Bath and body items
Purses and shoes
Winter clothing for children babies through 4T
Small toys or books for children through age 4
Items can be taken to the ROC office or dropped off at the Donation Station. Contact Brian Varble or Maurine Mitchell for more information.
The College Ministry needs volunteers to bake cookies for our weekly Cookie Ministry. Everyone knows that college students love homemade treats so each week we deliver cookies to our first time college visitors. The obligation is to bring 2-3 dozen homemade cookies to the church office on your designated Sunday (one time each semester). We package and deliver them to the students. Just sign up and we'll mail you a Cookie Ministry schedule as well as a reminder card on your designated week. It's an easy way to share God's love with students who are far from home and looking to connect with a church in Lexington.
Do you love babies? Then we have the place for you.
The Preschool Ministry is in need of volunteers to work once a month in the Babies Room during the 11:00 Worship. If you are interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
