About Friends in Christ

FIC members tear out carpet to prepare for the renovation of the medical mission building.

Friends in Christ members, individually and collectively through Calvary Baptist Church, seek to be missions-minded as we learn to walk with Christ in all the myriad facets of our daily lives.

You will find FIC delivering bread to new members through the Calvary Bread Ministry, manning the reception desk at the Dental Clinic, hammering nails in Pearlington, Mississippi, scraping paint at the Medical Clinic site, coaching teams with Upward Basketball, staffing God's Pantry and finding many more ways to connect our faith with our actions in order to reflect God's love to the world around us.

FIC studies the Word each Sunday morning using the Uniform study series. Members are known for questioning intelligently and deeply (although always with wit and charm) throughout each and every lesson, and above all, we know how to laugh at our limited efforts as we each continue on our path towards truly becoming God's image on Earth. On many occasions further illumination occurs with our  Sunday  morning  lessons  through emails, phone calls or through followup sharing the next week. We share praises and prayer requests that help us support each other through the difficult times and allow us to rejoice together in the happy ones.

Serious about our fellowship with the Lord, we are equally joyous about our fellowship through Him with each other. We plan socials, participate fully in worship and church activities, and like all good Baptists we love to eat! That means regular planned and impromptu after-church get-togethers as well as field trips to plays, concerts, festivals and more.
