Preschool Ministry
Sunday School 9:45—10:45 Sunday
Sunday School is the basic Bible teaching program of our preschool ministry. Here preschoolers experience a time of age appropriate learning of Bible stories and Bible verses through activities such as art, blocks, homeliving, music, puzzles, books, and other fun activities.
Extended Teaching Care 8:30 and 11:00 Sunday
Extended Teaching Care is the continuation of Sunday School where preschoolers are cared for and taught while parents attend worship. ETC is provided for preschoolers, birth through four year olds, by our baby teachers, parents of preschoolers and other volunteers from our Calvary church family. Our five year olds attend worship with their parents and once each month participate in Preschoolers Experiencing Worship program following the children’s sermon.
Mission Friends 6:35 Wednesday (August-May)
Preschoolers, three year – kindergarten, experience learning about missions in hands-on, age appropriate ways. They learn they can learn about do missions at any age.
Mother’s Day Out 9:30—2:00 Tuesday and Thursday
Mother’s Day Out is a ministry to the parents of our church and community. MDO seeks to minister to parents to provide a time of refreshment and to preschoolers to provide a time of learning and growth. There is a school year session and a six-week summer session. Children's Ministry
Sunday School 9:45—10:45 Sunday
Sunday School is the basic Bible teaching program of our Children’s ministry. It is the backbone of all we do! We have a great time of Bible study with teachers who are prepared to help the children learn Bible stories, memorize Bible verses, know how to use their Bibles and discover that the Bible is their guide for Christian living. We believe learning the Bible can be fun! Our desire is to help the children learn God’s truth and help them apply it to their everyday lives.
Discipleship 5:00—7:00 Sunday
TeamKID is action-packed fun and exciting discipleship designed specifically for children in grades 1-5. The study seeks to assist your child in his/her spiritual development. Each class experiences the Bible story told in a fun way, scripture memorization, Bible study activities, related games and refreshments. TeamKID meets when adult discipleship classes are meeting.
Bible Buddies and Bible Drill 12:10—1:30 Sundays, January—April
Bible Buddies is designed for children in grades 2-3. Girls and boys in this group meet for six weeks and learn the books of the Bible, a few Bible verses, and how to use their Bibles effectively.
Children’s Bible Drill is designed for girls and boys in grades 4-6. Participation in Bible Drill can help children increase their knowledge of the Bible and skill in using the Bible.
Missions (GAs and RAs) 6:35 Wednesday
GAs and RAs are mission programs for children designed to help them learn about missions and missionaries in our community, country and world. Children not only learn about missions, they learn to pray for, give to, and do missions in fun and creative ways.
New Christian Class Fall and Spring for 4 Weeks
This is a class for children who have made a profession of faith or would like to know more about salvation and church membership. It is offered in four classes, twice a year in the fall and spring, during the Sunday School hour. In this class children are taught the meaning of becoming a Christian, what Baptists believe, growing in the their faith, and becoming a church member.
Preteen Ministry
The Preteen Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church is designed to help sixth graders feel loved,, special, and accepted during a changing time of their lives. It is a transitional ministry between Children’s and Youth ministries that seeks to provide times for separate ministry for Preteens for Bible study, social events, and more and other times getting to know our youth.
On Sunday mornings Preteens are involved in their own Bible study in their own space in the basement of Edu. Bldg. II.
On Sunday evenings they participate in our Youth Choir, have dinner, and attend creative ministries.
On Wednesday evenings Preteens have recreation and praise music with youth and attend Bible study with other Middle Schoolers. In the spring and summer our Preteens begin attending more Middle School and Youth activities extra events. In August, our preteens officially move into our youth ministry.
