Mission Lexington

In 2004, Mission Lexington was just a dream.  Each year since then, Mission Lexington has served more people than the year before.  Today, the free Medical Clinic and free Dental Clinic provide dental exams, radiographs, restorative work, extractions, partials, root canals, emergency dental care, primary care, wound dressings, psychiatric care, lab testing such as urinalysis, pap smears, and blood tests of all kinds.  Mission Lexington is made up of Calvary Baptist Church, Faith Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Maxwell St. Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church, and South Elkhorn Christian Church.

Volunteer Needs
The clinics are currently in need of more volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, physicians' assistants, certified nursing assistants, certified medical assistants, dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and reception secretarial volunteers.

The free clinics operate on a by-appointment basis for patients that meet certain requirements.  To become a patient at the Mission Lexington Medical Clinic at 230 South Martin Luther King Blvd., one must:

  1. Be over 18 years of age,
  2. Live in Lexington, KY
  3. Have no medical insurance or medical card,
  4. Have an annual household income at or below $20,146 for a family of one (+ $7067 for each additional family member in the household) and
  5. Be currently working, drawing unemployment compensation, be a full-time student, or have ever been seen as a Mission Lexington Dental Clinic patient.

Please call 272-0219 to schedule an appointment or to volunteer at the medical clinic.

To be eligible to place your name on the waiting list to become a patient at the Mission Lexington Dental Clinic on 216 S. Limestone St., one must:

  1. Be over 18 years of age,
  2. Live in Lexington, KY
  3. Have no dental insurance,
  4. Have an annual household income at or below $10,890 for a family of one (+$3,820 for each additional family member in the household) or be a current Mission Lexington Medical Clinic Patient,
  5. Be willing to wait a couple of months for your first appointment, and make sure you keep in contact with us if your telephone number changes while you are on the waitlist.

Please note: The Dental Clinic cannot provide dentures if we did not extract your teeth.

High Street Neighborhood Center

The High Street Neighborhood Center is a Pre-School and Weekday Child Care Facility for ages twelve months to five years. The Center strives to create a secure, happy atmosphere that provides a stimulating learning environment for your child in a Christian setting.
