Excerpt from Dr. Baker’s 8/9/18 Pastor’s Paragraph Regarding the 8/26/18 Special Called Business Meeting:
There will be a called church business meeting immediately following the 11:00 worship service on August 26. The purpose of this business session will be to consider a recommendation from our Minister of College Students and Young Adults Search Committee. This recommendation will be to call a candidate to become Calvary’s next Minister of College Students and Young Adults. The candidate will share a personal testimony during the morning worship service (which will be a combined worship service that day). At the called Business Meeting, the search committee will share additional information. We will not release the candidate’s name at this time because of his/her current ministry position in another church. However, the candidate’s name and resume will be shared with our church family during the week prior to August 26. Please be in prayer for the candidate, the candidate’s family, our search committee, and our church as we take this step in calling a new College and Young Adult minister to our church.
Notice Regarding Proposed By-Laws Changes To Be Presented at 9/16/18 Quarterly Business Meeting:
NOTICE OF PROPOSED BY-LAW CHANGE
At the Deacon’s Meeting on Tuesday, evening August 14, the Deacons of our church discussed and passed the following recommendations:
“At the request of the Executive Committee of the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists (aka the Elkhorn Baptist Association), we the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church recommend to our church that Calvary Baptist Church withdraw from the Central Kentucky Network of Baptist and that Calvary Baptist Church By-Laws be changed accordingly.”
The Calvary Baptist Deacons will present this recommendation to our Calvary congregation for discussion and vote/action at our Quarterly Church Business Meeting which is scheduled for Sunday, September 16, 2018 in the church fellowship hall following the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service. A forum to discuss the background and reasoning regarding this recommendation from our deacons will be scheduled in the near future.–Published in Calvary Connections Newsletter 8/16/18
