Global Missions Sunday
This Sunday was scheduled to be our Global Missions Sunday. We were going to take some time to share gratitude for our missionaries who are faithful to follow God’s call, pray for God’s presence and protection in the lives and ministries of the missionaries, and take an offering to help support those who are serving. We will have a prayer for the missionaries on Sunday, but I hope you will take some time to pray for our missionaries who are sharing God’s Good News around the globe. We are using the Prayers of the People. We will have a time when we return to take a special offering to help support our Cooperative Baptist Fellowship missionaries.
May thanks to the families who have helped support God’s Pantry. We have been able to meet a need in our community and have some safe social interaction. I continue to recruit individuals under 60 and families with middle school and high school students. We serve on Tuesday and Thursday (2:30-4:30) at Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church. We practice good social distancing, wear gloves and masks. Here is the process: We load a cart with the food, place it in the truck, wipe down the cart, and repeat. The people are very thankful to receive the food. It is a good way to keep serving through this time.
Meal of Wheels
Calvary has stepped up and done a fantastic job making sure the meals are delivered. However as this isolation time continues, we will need more to volunteer. The food will be picked up at Trinity Baptist Church on Strater Rd. off Winchester Rd. The food is picked up at 11:00 and dropped off at the door step of the house. Please contact Brian (859-327-9984) or Cyndi Allen (859-229-3709) is you can help with this opportunity to serve.
There are several individuals who are willing and wanting to help with errands, pick up prescriptions, go grocery shopping, and get necessary items. If you need anything or know someone who needs these items. Please contact Brian (859-327-9984). We will be able to get the items the same day. Please do not hesitate to call.
