November 2, 2020
In response to the request of our state health authorities and in recognition of the increase in viral activity in our community, we are making the following adjustments to the schedule at Calvary for the next two weeks (November 2 through 15). Please understand that we make these changes out of an abundance of care and caution. Staff will continue to evaluate the situation and make additional recommendations on or before November 11 for the next two-week period.
Sunday Morning Worship: We will continue to offer in person and virtual worship at 11AM on Sunday morning. We encourage those of you in a high risk category to join us virtually. We would also remind anyone attending to be mindful of the healthy at worship guidelines. The Church Business Meeting scheduled for November 15 will be held immediately following the morning worship. Online participation will be available. Watch our publications for details.
Bible Studies: We will not have our planned Third Week Gatherings on November 15. We will continue to offer virtual studies including Zoom Sunday School and the Wednesday Evening Bible Study along with other women’s and men’s studies offered at other times.
Other Small Group Events/Meetings: All other in person small groups or meetings are cancelled or postponed at this time. These include, but are not limited to, children’s activities on Wednesday evenings and youth discipleship on Sunday evenings. If you are unsure about your activity, please contact the church office or the minister responsible.
Deacons Meeting: The November meeting will be conducted as scheduled both in person and via Zoom.
ROC: All in person activities scheduled in the ROC have been suspended at this time with two exceptions. We do have commitments to school and league sports that we will honor as long as they continue to follow State guidelines. We also plan to continue our tutoring ministry given the need and low risk to participants.
Church Office: The church office will not accept visitors beyond the entry area. You may bring by items for various collections or other materials and drop them off in that space. Support staff will be available to answer the phones and are staggering their work times. Ministerial staff will be in the office as necessary and are available to you as always.
I know this is disappointing for us. I feel that as well. However, we are committed to doing what we must both to ensure your health and safety and to love our neighbors by reducing opportunities for transmission. If you have questions or concerns, I am happy to talk with you. These are measured and hopeful steps. I am grateful for your grace and patience thus far. Please join us in praying for all who continue to be deeply affected by the pandemic and in holding one another in the light of God’s love.
