Covid 19 Update for November 19, 2020

Over the last two days, the Governor has made a series of announcements outlining new requirements and guidance in response to the ongoing pandemic.  Several of these provisions apply to our ministry here at Calvary.  In addition to the adjustments already in place here, we announce the following additional steps today.

The Governor made a direct request to churches to conduct all activity virtually through December 13.  After much deliberation, the church staff has decided to comply with this request for the next two Sundays, November 22 and 29.  Sunday services will be on-line only at 11AM.  We will not offer in-person worship during this time.  We will re-visit the decision for future services the week of November 30.

We will reduce activity in the office further to comply with the new requirements.  The office will remain closed to guests but will be staffed with a small group to maintain a ministry presence and ongoing operations.  All meetings, including ministerial staff meetings, will be conducted via Zoom.

The ROC will be closed for all activities and events until further notice.

In compliance with current state guidance, the Parent’s Day Out Program will remain open.

All other in-person classes, meetings or other activities are postponed with the exception of individuals and families working directly on Christmas Project preparations.  This activity will be scheduled through Brian Varble and will be limited to single households at a time.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as necessary and when possible.  If you have questions about any of this, please feel free to call the church office.

I know these are difficult steps to accept.  I also know that not everyone will agree with them.  However, I want you to know that we take them with love for you and our neighbors in our hearts.  We take them knowing there is hope.  We look forward to the promise of vaccines but even more to the promise of both the abiding presence of Immanuel and the coming Reign of Christ our Lord.
