Calvary’s Response to the Haiti Earthquake (August 2021)
from the Missions Team

I’m sure by now most of you have heard of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti this past Saturday, August 14th.  We are all filled with sorrow at this terrible news, as Haiti and the wonderful people there have a very special place in the hearts of all of us at Calvary Baptist Church. The epicenter was in L’Asile, which is about 40 miles west of Grand Goave.  Brian was able to have a brief e-mail conversation with Jenny Jenkins (CBF Field Personnel), and he is relieved and happy to report that she is safe and doing as well as possible during such a trying time.  Jenny shared with Brian that the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) has a fund for CBF missional partners to help with the earthquake response. Our mission team has been in discussion and we would like to recommend sending $4,000.00 to CBF for this fund, since we have such a long partnership with Jenny and CBF in Haiti.  In addition, if any individual would like to participate in Haiti’s recovery, please place a check in the offering plate this Sunday and mark it for Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Haiti recovery response. (Donations for Haiti may also be submitted using E-giving. Please note “Haiti recovery” in the note.)

I know you all join us in prayer for Haiti.
