Together In Unity Concert

The music ministry of Calvary Baptist Church presents “Together In Unity,” a music program carrying with it this year’s emphasis on unity at Calvary. The program is scheduled for Sunday, October 13th at 3:00pm in the sanctuary. We have invited the youth ensemble Uniting Voices Lexington to join Calvary’s music ministry as we turn our focus to unity and invite our community to come together with us. The ensemble was recently founded here in Lexington by Michael Preacely, who says: “Uniting Voices Lexington empowers and unites youth from diverse backgrounds to find their voice and celebrate their common humanity through the power of music.” It’s the first outside chapter of this paradigm and parent organization that originated in Chicago in 1956.
The concert will include music tailored for the Uniting Voices choir, mass choir numbers and also choral and solo music from Calvary’s Sanctuary Choir, directed by Jamie Wright. We are looking forward to including Michael as one of the soloists with the choral department bringing a lot of energy to the worship event. Expect to be inspired by several choral genres including a few spirituals, a musical style which Michael greatly excels!
