Current Missions Opportunities & Events
Build-a-Bed
Calvary has partnered with Fayette County Schools to help provide beds for children who are in need.
We construct twin beds and provide kits with sheets, a comforter, pillows, an alarm clock, books and a Bible. Please check announcements for the next building and delivery opportunities. Please contact Chuck Powell or the office at 859-254-3491 for more information.
Opportunities to Serve: This ministry has building sessions and delivery days approximately 3-4 times a year. There is always a need for bedding for the nighttime kits and monetary donations for supplies and expenses.
Clothed By Grace Clothing Closet
Clothed By Grace is clothing closet for men and women in the Lexington community. It’s housed in a small room inside the Recreational Outreach Center (ROC). The clothing closet is open on the first and third Mondays, 5-7PM and the first and third Wednesdays, 11AM-1PM and appointments are required. Please contact the ROC for an appointment at 859-232-8955.
Opportunities to Serve: Help organize clothing, assist shoppers during their appointment times, and donate clothing. Please click HERE for a donation list and guidelines. Donations can be brought to the Donation Station at Calvary (EB2, Chapel side stairwell) or contact the church office. Contact Maurine Mitchell or Barb Bowman to volunteer or for other questions.
God’s Pantry
Calvary volunteers work God’s Pantry at St Luke’s Church on Alumni Drive every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 4:30 to 7:00PM. Please contact Susan Cruse or Michelle Moseley to sign up.
Opportunities to Serve: Help individuals as they pick out their food, bag and count items, and check people into the pantry.
We always accept donations of non perishable food items at the Donation Station located in EB2, Chapel side stairwell.
Meals On Wheels
Calvary members work with other volunteers to deliver meals to the elderly. The suggested commitment for this ministry is one day a month. Example: Deliver food the first Friday of each month. Please contact Susan Rayer to sign-up.
Opportunities to Serve: Pick up the food at Trinity Baptist Church, deliver the meals to the elderly, return coolers to Trinity.
